The Spinney Joinery was founded by Barry Peers. Barry is a fully qualified Cabinet maker, having studied for 4 years at Shrewsbury Tech while an apprentice at Laurel Bank Oak Furniture. This course covered both Cabinet Making and the Theory and History of Furniture-making.
He also studied Traditional Bench Joinery at Chester College in Handbridge.
All joinery, including furniture and cabinet-making, is undertaken using only traditional methods and materials. Barry uses only quality solid timber, kiln-dried after being sawn.
Traditional jointing methods are used – all dovetails on drawers are cut by hand and not machined or routed, as Barry is not trying to compete with large manufacturers, but rather keeping up the tradition and quality of hand-crafted quality craftsmanship.
At the Spinney Joinery we work for discerning clients who are looking for products manufactured to the highest standards of quality, using only traditional methods and materials. We do not set out to compete with the high-street market, but rather provide unique hand-crafted products that last.
